Our Story

The Friends of the Lodi Public Library was founded in 1979 by members of the Lodi branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW). Their mission was to support the Lodi Public Library and promote literacy in our community. As the Friends have changed and grown with time, our commitment to this mission has only deepened. With over 100 members and more than 60 volunteers, our bookstore raises more than $30,000 each year to fund library programs and services. As a Friend, we are working to keep our Library strong and welcoming.
